Dr. Gatti has been a plastic surgeon since 1986 and is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery -- the only board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties to certify plastic surgeons. He received his M.D. from Georgetown University in 1978 and then served a full general surgery residency at the University of Pennsylvania and was board certified in general surgery in 1986. Dr. Gatti completed his plastic surgery training at the University of Pennsylvania and has been in solo practice since that time. He is a Fellow of the America College of Surgeons (FACS).

Dr. Gatti is on the active staff of the Virtua West Jersey Health System and Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center. He is chief of plastic surgery at Our Lady of Lourdes. He is an assistant clinical professor of surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He is a member of many national and regional societies, including: American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, Northeastern Society of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Gatti has published more than three dozen scientific abstracts and articles and has been active in the International Society of Plastic Surgery. He has presented scientific papers in Prague, Florence, Madrid, and Stockholm, and participated in a medical ambassadorship to China and Tibet in 1998. Dr. Gatti has authored a unique surgical textbook called Study Cards in General Surgery, which is published by W.B. Saunders Company and sold throughout the world. In addition, Dr. Gatti holds three U.S. patents for his inventions: Operative Smoke Screen, Smoke Aspiration Device, and Photography Slide Duplicator.
